Update #7

Good morning dear pilots! 🤩

...and a warm welcome to the newcomers! 🥳

Today we tell you about a request we got from one of our supporters: he asked us to introduce the add-on of one additional base set!

He would like to give it as a present... btw we think it's a cool extra option for those who want to line up more models. As you know, each base set contains everything you need to play with 10 models simultaneously... but we don't know how big your collections can be! 😅

So we decided to include this option as well!

The additional base set will contain, like all the others, the "Tournament ID-Code":

Have a nice day!

Good evening everyone and welcome to the new pilots! 😎

We have made a first gameplay video as you requested! 🥳

As you know, a match can last up to two hours so we've taken only one clip that explains certain aspects of the game! 🤓

Let us know how we can improve ourselves, your opinion is very important to us!

Update #4
almost 4 years ago – Tue, Jun 23, 2020 at 11:30:21 PM

Good morning everyone and welcome to the new pilots! 🥳

Let's continue to deepen some aspects of the game: now let's talk about the creation of the mecha's statistical card.

After a few games of MechaTop you will be ready to deploy your custom units. 🤩

The choice of how to equip the mecha is not easy and you will probably change it several times before you find its "perfect setup".

Is it better to keep the mecha light (with one or two weapons at most) or better to have some spare weapons in case the main one is destroyed by collateral damage?

Is it better to assign units to melee and others to ranged shooting or is it better to have units ready for any scenario?

You will find answers to these questions only after a few games and the answers will vary depending on how the other mecha of the team are equipped.

The book will guide you through the definition of all the aspects to indicate on the card and help you calculate the cost:

1) Identify the level of technology of the unit/mecha (from level 1 to 3);

2) Establish the number of structure points of the mecha (depending on its size and technology level);

3) Define the strength of the shell and its defensive dices (based on the material it is made of);

4)  Define the strength of the shield (if it has one) its structure points and defensive dices (based on the size and the material it is made of);

5) Define the speed of your mecha (between "tank", "slow", "average", "fast" and "jet") and calculate its cost based on the total of structure points (shell + shield);

6) Select the special features of your unit. There are some limitations: a tank for example cannot have the "Aircraft" trait, an "Aircraft" must have at least "Jet" speed and others...

7) Choose your weapons: you can equip your Mecha with up to 13 weapons (mounted on the frame and in his hands). Remember that if you equip your unit with many weapons, the "speed" will cost more 🔧.

If you do not find on the list the most appropriate weapon for your unit, you can create your own weapon (or an updated version of the available ones). The algorithm evaluates the cost of the new weapon according to several variables: if the weapon is 1 or 2 hands, if the weapon is mounted on the frame, the range of the weapon, the potential damage (maximum damage that the weapon can inflict) and the type of weapon (EXP, ATK, AMS).

In the end you will get a total cost in 🔧 points that will be perfectly balanced with the other official cards.

Remember that you can always add upgrade cards to your unit to personalise it even more, depending on the opponents you encounter!

Thanks for reading and have a nice day!

update #3
almost 4 years ago – Tue, Jun 23, 2020 at 12:53:32 PM

Hello to all the new pilots! Welcome aboard! 🥳

We decided to take advantage of these updates to deepen some aspects of the game.

So let's start with the "solo" mode.

How can an artificial intelligence system compete with human intelligence?

The result on a sample of 30 games in total played by 6 physical opponents: A.I. 13, humans 17.

The opposing units controlled by the virtual player do not have to plan button tokens but only roll a dice (or draw a card) and that will determine their attitude in battle:

(1-attack)

(2-bring it down)

(3-charge)

(4-defense)

(5-engage)

(6-flanking)

Each result then has 4 scenarios:

  • in range, weapon loaded;

  • in range, weapon unloaded;

  • out of range, weapon loaded;

  • out of range, weapon unloaded;

Depending on the scenario in which you are the unit have to perform a certain action ... or if it can not, a second one.

It sounds complex but it's all clearly described in a simple table. 🤓

We recommend this game mode to test your Custom units or to get familiar with the dynamics of the game ... but we must admit that during the lockdown has cheered us up a lot of morale to play in this way!

Have a nice day MechaTop team
